Find Uvalde County Traffic Records

Need your Uvalde County traffic ticket? Start with the court printed on the citation. That court, either a justice court or a municipal court, keeps the actual file. There is no single countywide database for a search, so the docket lives where the case was filed. Some city courts offer an online case lookup, while a Sabinal or justice-court matter usually means calling the clerk directly. A Uvalde County traffic court records search can confirm the charge, the response date, your plea, hearing settings, payments, and the case outcome. Keep two paths straight from the outset. Paying a ticket works one way; contesting it works another. And the court file stays separate from whatever record the state licensing agency keeps on its own.

Traffic Court Records in Uvalde County

Traffic jurisdiction is distributed among Justice of the Peace Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, Uvalde Municipal Court, and Sabinal Municipal Court. The citation identifies the court. City police and ordinance matters generally begin in the applicable municipal court, while other fine-only traffic matters can be assigned to the marked JP. The District Clerk or County Clerk should not be assumed to hold a lower-court citation file.

The issuing court's clerk keeps the Uvalde County traffic court record. That file can show the citation and charge, appearance date, plea, hearing or trial setting, payments, disposition, and court orders. The City of Uvalde uses a separate Tyler citation portal. Sabinal uses clerk contact and a monthly City Hall docket posting. County JP matters follow the office and response form printed for the marked precinct.

Five Uvalde County JP Traffic Dockets

The county's official courtesy letter places all five JP offices on one form, but each precinct keeps its own Uvalde County traffic docket. Precincts 1 and 4 are at the courthouse complex; Precinct 6 is on King Fisher Lane in Uvalde; Precinct 2 serves through Sabinal contact information; and Precinct 3 uses Utopia contact information. Address sources differ for Precincts 2 and 3, so call before visiting.

Read the marked precinct directly from the ticket. A county payment page may route a payment to an outside vendor, including nCourt, which warns that it is not the official county website and adds a service fee. A payment vendor is not the record custodian and does not replace contact with the JP about a plea, hearing date, warrant, deferred disposition, or copy of the court file.

The official Uvalde County JP directory displays the five precinct offices and their contact routes.

How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket

There is no single lookup for every Uvalde County traffic record. The route depends on the court printed on the citation. Uvalde city matters have several Tyler search modes. JP tickets use the marked court, phone, counter, or written reply route. Sabinal provides clerk contact and a posted monthly docket rather than a comparable public name or citation search.

  1. Read the citation number, issuing court or precinct, citation date, and appearance date from the ticket.
  2. For Uvalde Municipal Court, search the Tyler portal by citation number and date of birth, or use another supported search mode.
  3. For a JP case, call the marked office to check status or visit its counter, then send the required written reply by the appearance date. A call does not count as an appearance.
  4. For Sabinal, call (830) 988-2630 and check the monthly docket posted at City Hall 48 hours before court day. Appearances must be scheduled remotely.
  5. Use re:SearchTX only as a statewide electronic fallback for eligible records, not as a promise that a local traffic ticket will appear.
  6. Record the current setting, response deadline, amount, plea status, and instructions from the issuing court.

Uvalde County Tyler Citation Search

The City of Uvalde's Tyler Municipal Online Services page offers six search paths. It is for Uvalde Municipal Court citations, not all Uvalde County traffic records. The public form does not publish a citation-number format, wildcard rules, refresh schedule, result limit, or certified-copy price. Use only the least sensitive field set needed, and contact the city clerk when a citation does not appear.

Search modeFields shown

Driver licenseLicense number, issuing state, and date of birth

The official interface also shows Sign In/Register and an identity-service notice. It can serve as a citation, status, and payment path, but a portal view is not a certified case record.

Finding Your Traffic Court Date

The ticket's appearance date is the first deadline to check, but it is not always a trial date. A JP defendant may have to enter a written or in-person plea by that date, after which the court supplies a trial setting for a not-guilty plea. Uvalde city open court for pleas, arraignments, and hearings is scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Sabinal posts its monthly docket at City Hall 48 hours before court day.

Uvalde County Telephone Calls Are Not Appearance

The JP courtesy letter makes a critical distinction: telephone calls do not constitute an appearance. Calling is still useful to confirm the court, balance, or process, but the plea must be made in writing or in person by the appearance date. A mailed reply should include the requested form fields plus copies of the citation and driver license.

The county reply form asks for the name as shown on the license, citation number and date, date cited to appear, driver-license number, mailing address, city, state, ZIP code, home and cell phone numbers, and signature. It also tells the defendant to keep the court advised of the mailing address. Follow the marked court's instructions because each precinct controls its own docket and later setting.

A portal search or clerk call may confirm status, but neither replaces the timely plea or written response the issuing court requires.

Paying or Contesting a Ticket

The choice changes the Uvalde County traffic court record. For a JP ticket, guilty or nolo contendere with payment waives appearance and is treated as a conviction under the courtesy letter. A not-guilty plea asks for a judge or jury trial, with the court sending the later setting. Deferred disposition and a driving-safety course are separate requests, not automatic results of payment.

Missed response or payment: A JP failure to respond can lead to a Violate Promise to Appear charge and warrant, with a stated $50 warrant fee per charge for execution or processing. Sabinal can report a case to Omnibase, add $30 per reported case, and says release usually takes two to three days after full payment. Contact the issuing court for the current way to clear the case.

Uvalde County Course and Deferral Paths

The county JP form allows a request for deferred disposition with a nolo plea, but it does not print one universal term. The defendant must contact the right JP for conditions. For an eligible moving violation, the JP driving-safety request cites Code of Criminal Procedure Article 45.0511 and requires a notarized request, proof of liability coverage, a driver-license copy, and $146 by cashier's check or money order.

The JP form requires a valid Texas non-commercial license and certifications about speed, recent course use, and no course already in progress. It gives 90 days from the stated ticket or receipt point to complete the course and submit the certified DPS record. Sabinal publishes its own terms: $109.10 in court costs, license and insurance copies, an affidavit, and 90 days for completion and a certified DPS record. Those Sabinal terms must not be borrowed for a JP or Uvalde city citation.

Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record

These are two files with two custodians. The JP or municipal clerk keeps the court case file. The Texas Department of Public Safety keeps the state driving record. A person seeking the citation, plea, court setting, fine, or order should ask the court. A person specifically directed to provide a certified state history for a course request must obtain that separate record from DPS.

Uvalde County JP Fine Schedule

The published JP schedule gives exact examples for many motor-vehicle charges. Speeding totals rise from $214 for one to three miles per hour over the limit to $324 for 21 to 24 miles per hour over. Other examples include $251 for a stop-sign or signal offense, $179 for an expired or unregistered vehicle, $248 for no inspection, and $186 for a seat-belt charge.

Those figures are not a quote for every ticket. More than 25 miles per hour over requires judge contact. School-zone, construction-zone, some commercial-truck, overweight, and unlisted offenses also require direct court contact. Certain license or coverage defects may support dismissal within ten days under the exceptions printed on the form. Check the current amount and terms with the marked JP before paying.

Fees and Copies

Traffic fine amounts, court costs, payment-vendor charges, and record-copy charges are different items. The JP schedule states the fine and cost for listed offenses, while nCourt may add its own service fee. Neither Uvalde nor Sabinal municipal material in the research publishes a standard public copy price. Ask the clerk who holds the citation for a plain-copy or certified-copy quote.

Verify a Uvalde County Traffic Result

A search result should be checked against the ticket and the issuing court's current instructions. Confirm the court, citation number, charge, plea, response date, next setting, balance, and disposition. If a date moved, ask whether the docket reflects a reset or continuance and whether a new written notice was issued. The broader Uvalde County court calendar explains how settings differ across local courts.

For a copy, request the court file from the JP or municipal clerk. For Sabinal, the 48-hour City Hall posting and clerk-managed remote scheduling are key. For Uvalde city, Tyler is the first electronic route, followed by the clerk at (830) 278-8357. A statewide re:SearchTX miss does not override the local court. The original court record is the source to verify before taking action.
