District and county files have different clerks, while justice and municipal courts keep their own records. The routes below identify where to ask for a docket, setting, document, or certified copy.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Route each request by court and case type. A case search may locate an index, and the court calendar routes help identify a setting, but the custodian controls the official record.

  • Justice-court cases: contact the precinct printed on the citation or case papers. Uvalde County has JP Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
  • Municipal cases: contact Uvalde Municipal Court or Sabinal Municipal Court for that city’s traffic, ordinance, and Class C records.
  • Certified copies: request them from the clerk or lower court that holds the original file. Ask about current fees and delivery before sending payment.

The District Clerk and County Clerk are not interchangeable. The Texas Judicial Branch also states that the Office of Court Administration does not maintain individual trial-court case records. For a written request, provide the court, case number, style, specific document or event, date range, copy type, delivery method, and contact information.
